Municipality’s specific PR activities, defining the communication style of the local government and developing its efficient communication with citizens, trust relations, understanding and mutual actions, were some of the weekend seminar topics organized as a part of an international project Ka Evropi (Towards Europe) during August for municipality managers and employees in public companies in two Serbian municipalities – Nova Varoš and Priboj.
This education’s goal was enabling use of knowledge, experience and skills for solving communication dilemmas and problems. Non-government organisation Urbanin-In from Novi Pazar was the organizator. During the workshops, participants were able to define the mission and vission of their municipality, to create basic communication strategies, and to plan public educational campaigns, practice public appearance, presentations and interviews for different media.
The Ka Evropi project’s main goal is building the capacity of civil society, local government, public institutions and business sector for European integration process. This project also includes communication skills seminars in other cities which are included in the Project: Prijepolje, Tutin, Sjenica and Novi Pazar.
